Roofing
A roof needs sheet in full slope lengths, not a set of offcuts. Profiled sheet, tunikabond and steel sheet sit in one warehouse, and we cut them to your dimensions.
Profile height first, thickness second
A roof sheet's load capacity comes mainly from rib height, not from thickness: the wider the purlin spacing, the taller the profile you need. Low-rib wall profiles are not used on a roof. On a shallow pitch, increase the overlap and seal the longitudinal joint.
Sheet length is slope length
Profiled sheet is cut to size, so it is ordered in the full slope length: ridge to eave, plus the overhang. That removes transverse joints entirely — no path for water, and no offcuts you have paid for.
Coating and the cut edge
Bare galvanised sheet is cheaper, but the cut edges are the first thing to give way. Coloured roofs use polymer-coated sheet. Do not cut it with an angle grinder: the heat lifts the coating back from the edge and rust starts there — use nibblers or a jigsaw.
